It was lessons like usual this morning. Emmeline breezed through her 2nd day of reviewing her short-vowel readers and also is starting to remember some sounds from her new cluster phonics song she's learning. Ella's tackling more memorization of adding/subtracting.
Towards the end of quiet time, Elise comes to me and shows me some blue gum that got stuck in her hair. Oops! Lesson learned - do not pull gum in and out of mouth. So I got out the "goo-gone" spray and used it to remove the gum from her hair. It worked but didn't smell too nice.
This afternoon after quiet time, the kids went out to play since it warmed up into the teens today. They played for awhile in the back yard then moved to the big pile of snow right in front of the house and worked on a tunnel that was taller than Elise (who got stuck several times in it and had to assisted by her siblings in order to get back out).
Tonight for supper, we had roasted ribs, squash, homemade bread, beets, & soybeans. Yummy dinner! There was only a little bit of squash left, otherwise the family downed the rest.
For family devotions, we have been reading a chapter an evening from Keeping Holiday by Starr Meade. It's a great story and has the kids listening intently. We should finish it this Saturday.

What a good snapshot of life in a home school home. We do lessons, we handle unexpected events like gum in the hair and we eat meals together. Enjoyed reading your menu; it sounded delicious. I am actually quite interested in menus and will often record my own so hearing yours was fun to me. Yummy!
