We did our annual shopping for the year. Neither Tom nor I love shopping, so we figure we might as well shop when the prices are really good and do it for the day to get it done. The last 3 years or so we've done it the day after Christmas in order to catch the big sales and also because we had family to watch our kids. This year, since the baby's due date is the 28th of Dec., I didn't want to attempt the day after Christmas. So we did the day after Thanksgiving - black Friday.
This year I was searching for a coat for Ella. I was able to find really warm good quality coats for Emmeline & Ezra at garage sales during the summer, but not for Ella. So during our shopping on Friday, we checked out JcPenney, Sears, Khol's, Gander Mt, Mills Fleet Farm. But none of the coats' hoods fit Ella very well & the coats she really liked didn't seem warm enough. Then we went to Once Upon a Child (a used children's & baby's clothing/toys/etc. store). And wouldn't you know it, we found a coat there! A really warm coat, the hood fit well and it was pink. (Ella really likes purple, but pink is ok with her too). It was in really good condition and it was half the price of the coats that were 50% off in the stores. So now we can get rid of her other coat - which was too small for her, the tab on the zipper had broken off, and it was looking old and kind of tattered.

Elaine,
God provided for your family again! It sounds like a great coat. You sure put the foot-work into finding it, didn't you.
