It's fun to see our kids using their creative minds and imaginations. At least once a day, one of the 3 older ones is building something with legos. Pictured here is Ella (6 1/2) who's standing behind her very tall triangle tower. The kids have also stacked the legos as high as they can reach. Yesterday they had a tower higher than my head. Ezra's into building boats or airplanes with legos. Ella's favorite is to build a big building where she can stash all the lego people inside.
Elise, our 2 1/2 year old, has been into the jigsaw puzzles lately. She has no problem putting together the 15-25 piece board puzzles.
Ella likes to play games. The last 2 days, she and Emmeline have played the memory game. One set was of Noah's ark animals and another memory games set is of Winnie pooh characters. When their playing, it's also an opportunity of teaching how to win or lose well (i.e. not bragging about winning and not whining about losing). Ella favorite game is Connect Four and she's pretty good at it. We played 4 round of it a couple of days ago. She won 2 and I won 2 and I didn't just let her win. Ella knows how to strategize, block your moves. I think she'll be good a math.
