Cleaning House

A little children's book titled Five Little Monkeys with Nothing to Do has inspired Ella. The monkeys clean house for their Grandma who is coming to visit. Well before their Aunt Michelle came this weekend, I did some cleaning myself and taught Ella house to clean some windows - like the one they look out on the bench in the entryway and the deck doors. Then Ella cleaned them the best she could. After she did that, she said "Hey we're cleaning house for Aunt Michelle to come. Now we need to pick some flowers for her, too" - which is what happens in the little monkey book. So all 4 kids proceeded into the back yard to pick huge handfuls of Dandelions - which to us is a weed, but to them is a pretty yellow flower and there's lots of them to pick! Now their another person, Aunt Carolyn, is coming to visit next weekend. And already Ella is saying that we'll have to clean house for Aunt Carolyn and pick flowers (dandelions) for her too! Hummm, I wonder what other books I can read to inspire my kids. . . . . .
