Easter Eve

It's been neat this week to see how our family devotions readings in The Picture Bible have correlated with holy week. On Thursday we read about the Last Supper. Tonight Jesus died on the cross and was buried. Tomorrow, Easter Sunday, we'll read about Christ's resurrection! Ella especially is excited about it.

We're having a family from church over for lunch tomorrow. So today, I've been making preparations for that meal - baking bread, making rhubarbs desserts, making jello & getting the ham ready, and scrubbing up potatoes.

It's been unusually warm for the last half of March & beginning of April, so the kids have enjoyed lots of outdoor time - playing on the swing set, riding bike, drawing with chalk, digging in the sandbox. Emmeline has created her own "blacksmith" shop outside. She got the idea from the books I've reading to them about Colonial days here in America. Ella has created her own Tepee out of big tall sticks. They also made their own stick fishing poles that they play with and have tried to make their own kites out of paper & ribbon for string. They have lots of fun creating.
