MACHE Conference

It was a good 2 days up in Duluth for the MACHE (Minnesota Association of Christian Home Educators) Conference. Tom and I left home at 5 in the morning to make it there close to when the conference opened up for the morning.

The workshops Tom attended were by Jeff Myers; Steve & Terri Maxwell w/ Titus2
I attended Chris Hogan w/ Noble Call, Mary James w/ Smoothing the Way, Terri Maxwell discussing her book Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit, Sarah Malley - who started Bright Lights program for girls w/ Tomorrow's Forefathers. We got her book Before You Meet Prince Charming. We also got some great books through Generations of Virtue specifically for kids 5 & under that lay the foundation for purity discussions later on.

For me it was neat to see all the educational games available and to see that some of the books that we're being sold/promoted were ones that we already had. The workshops were encouraging.

We stayed with a church planter in Duluth, so that saved on costs of a hotel, and we saved costs of meals by bringing our lunch (for Fri & Sat) of sandwiches and munchies and ate supper on Fri with the church planter, Paul, at his house. Friday evening Paul showed us around Duluth. He took us up to a high point and we climb Enger Tower. He took us out on the pier and across one of the bridges and out on the point to a sandy beach.
