Eliza 2 month checkup

Well, Eliza had her 2 month checkup this morning. Leave it to Minnesota to be really cold! It was -8 when I was eating breakfast this morning and it warmed up to a sunny 12 degrees! The really cold air moved in after we got a couple of inches of snow on Tuesday. It's supposed to warm up into the 40's this weekend and stay that warm all next week. Whooo Hooo - springs around the corner.

Our little sweet Eliza has been growing:
Height: 23 1/4 inches (75%)
Weight: 9# 14.5 oz (25%)
Head: 14 1/4 inches (5%)

All of our kids have been long & lean and generally have smaller heads, too. She's also mentally developing like she should - interacting verbally with us and smiling.

The other news isn't so good. Her umbilical cord stub is still very attached. The pediatrician said that he's never seen one stay on so long before. It might be an indicator that she'll have immune problems later on, but may not know that till she's 6-12 months of age and not breastfeeding as much. So for now at least until her 4 month checkup, I have to continue with the alcohol swabs at diaper changes.
Her hip was popping so I had the Dr check that out. He couldn't get it to pop, but just to be safe he had a x-ray taken of her right hip. If there's anything wrong, it'll show up in the x-ray. Will find out the results for sure by Monday.
Since birth, her right eye hasn't been closing like it should, so he's concerned about it enough now that he had me schedule an appt with a Pediatrics Ophthalmologist. That appt is Monday the 16th.

Elaine, thanks for sharing all about Eliza. I was so excited to read her growth updates and was moved with compassion as I read her current challenges. Our God is faithful.
