The kids all "painted" this morning. The 3 youngest did water color painting while Ella painted the baby horse. Emmeline saw the difference between the real paint Ella was using and her water painting. So I let Emmeline have a try at painting. Check out the picture to see how she did with her first paint by number picture. Pretty good I think for a 4 year old!
Today Ella read her 1st story from a book containing words with the short vowel "a"! How exciting is that!?! Compared to yesterday, today was great! (we tried to read the story yesterday, which it seemed agonizing - especially when she couldn't remember that the boy's name in the story was Al and even after many repetitions couldn't remember how to read it either). Today she is pronouncing the words out and comprehending what she was reading and only needed help a few times. She was reading the following words: and, glad, has, fan, van, bat, bag.

What lovely works of art! Seeing their happy faces as they show what they have done is a real treat to me.
