Sat. was full of activity. In the morning I did various stuff to pack a little more. Then right after lunch - Ella, Emmeline, Ezra and also Juliana (6 yrs) & Ariana (6 yrs) and me went to see Little Red Riding Hood at the Old Log Theater - in Minnetonka (A western suburb of the Cities). After a short detour from Hwy 7 (several miles closed due to a car accident), we made it to the theater on time, got our tickets from Betty Rehmann (A lady from church who gave her extra tickets to us) and sat down. The show was fairly good - it got a little long for the kids and they got restless. Ezra sat on my lap the whole time - did pretty good himself staying quiet. After the show we stop by Target to pick up some laundry detergent and back home we went. The roads were in better condition on the way home.
That evening while Tom watch the Amazing Grace movie with the young people growth group, I packed the rest of our stuff for our trip and set it all in the entryway.
Sunday morning we got ready for church. Elise was dressed up in her cute red dress with black cuffs & collar and a cute hat to match (which actually stayed on for most of the morning). Tom preached on the shepherds and why God choice to tell them about Jesus' birth.
Back home to grab some lunch, Tom preached at the Lindenwood Apts and we left home about 2:15pm admist blowing snow. It was slow going the first 2 hours - driving mostly 35-45 miles/hour and at parts only being able to see 100 feet. Lots of cars drove with their flashers on, which seemed strange at first, but made sense (we turned our's on too) because you could see the vehicles sooner with them on. Once we reached Granite Falls - the blowing snow was done! And we could travel at normal speed all the way to Plattsmouth. We listened to The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by Focus on the Family Radio Theater on the way down. And then put in a Kids Christmas music Cd after that. We arrived at Tom's parents place at about 10:30.
Elise didn't sleep a whole lot in the van - so hopefully she'll take a loooonnng nap today in order to be pleasant tonight for the Christmas Eve service at Bill & Connie's church.
