This morning they made birthday cards for a ladies birthday party that we went to tonight. The 3 older ones each made one and put their cards into envelopes. Ella drew one with hearts and another with a birthday cake on it. Emmeline cut out a "piece of birthday cake" that dozens of little pieces of cut out red and white pieces glued on both sides of the "cake". Ezra's was just a black crayon scribbled piece of paper - but that's what he likes to do with crayons at this point. In the evening at the birthday party, the lady seemed to really like the kids' homemade birthday cards.
Then we played Quack Quack Farm Game - where the kids roll 3 color-coded dice and then have to find the farm animal that has the 3 different colors rolled. Ella caught on quickly, but I had to help Emmeline & Ezra by process of elimination and focusing on just locating 1 color at a time. In the afternoon the kids started their sticker books, Ezra with his Tonka sticker book, Ella with her Gingerbread man story sticker book, and Emmeline with Babar sticker book. They had fun using their new colorful zipper cases filled with a box of crayons, markers, pencils and scissors (each scissors matched the color of their case: Ezra-blue, Emmeline-pink, Ella-green).
