Grilling in Feb

Only in Minnesota would a person think about grilling simply because it warmed up into the 30's. Well that's what we did yesterday. We had hamburgers for supper. It sure tastes good when they're grilled versus just pan fried.
After the kids went to bed, I finished another fiction book called With This Ring, which had 4 short stories by 4 different authors. Each story set in the 1880's contained ethnic characters: one was Russian & Jewish set in California, another was German set in New York, another was Spanish/Mexican set in Texas, and the other was Norwegian & Cajun set in Louisiana.
Tom and I also watched One Night with the King, the movie about Esther. It was alright, but we sure wished the movie would have put in all the events listed in the book of Esther (like Esther having 2 banquets for the King and Haman rather than just 1 as pictured in the movie).

Today we stayed inside due to the weather turning cold again. It barely got above zero! We folded laundry, I vacuumed, unloaded dishwasher twice; kids did lots of cutting, coloring & gluing; we played Bible Eights (like UNO).
For lunch we had split pea soup and for supper we had Barley cabbage & ground beef stew. Elise was the best eater of the kids at both meals.

Tonight we hung a blanket over Ezra & Elise's window (haven't replaced the blinds that broke). Hopefully this will keep them from waking up before 7am, like they have been doing the past week. It also means that winter is starting to near it's end because it's getting lighter again in the mornings.
