Gatherings & snow

Sunday was a full day. We had the morning church service. Followed by 3 young people coming to our house to join us for ham sandwiches. Then we had our annual church meeting at 1:30 in the afternoon where Tom presented his vision for the church for this year. Then it was back home to load the kids up and head down to Todd & Ruth's for a Super Bowl Gathering. The girls, esp. Ella, loved playing with Annie. Ezra loved having extra space to run around. There was plenty of food snackies to munch on all afternoon and evening. Our 3 youngest crashed at their usually bedtime. Emmeline slept in one of the Andersen's boys' beds and the other 2 slept in pack n plays. Ella then played with Annie for the rest of the evening. I had a good talk with Ruth - a fellow homeschooler veteran of at least 15 yrs and a compassionate, humble lady.

Monday - snow thruout the day (about 2 inches fell): in the morning after clean up, the kids & I played some games together. We played Bible Dominoes. And then Ella played BINGO - where she was picking up fairly easily how to say & "read" double digit numbers. Quiet time - I read a couple of chapters in my Bible and took a nap. The afternoon saw us all waking up from naps, then snack. We read some books. Then Ella & Ezra headed outside to play in fresh fallen snow. We had supper: I used the rest of fresh broccoli & cauliflower and made a "hot dish" (that's what they call a casserole up here in Minnesota). Then we gave the kids baths, read their Bible story & off the bed. We had leadership meeting and discussed the Lester Prairie second service & children's church logistics.
